SalaryVitals answers one question -- what does this job actually pay -- using real, sourced data instead of a self-reported average from job seekers. Traditional occupation wages come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics survey, the same government data economists and journalists use, shown as the full 10th-through-90th-percentile range rather than one blended number. Gig-platform earnings come from independent driver-earnings tracking data, not the platforms' own marketing figures. Where a trade occupation has a real, published apprentice-to-journeyman wage schedule from a union local, we show that too, cited directly.

Every page on this site names its specific source, links to it, and states the date the data was pulled. Nothing is estimated or averaged from other pages on this site -- if we couldn't source a real figure for something, we left it off the page rather than guess.
